Col 2:9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form
Any meeting of the saints is a “Great Opportunity” to see and touch the fullness of Him who dwells in us and expressed in a dynamic way when we meet together,
If you’ve ever been to a concert or great event with the chance to see a famous person, unless you have been in the best position you generally have to be satisfied with just a glimpse. Very rarely will you get the chance to touch or speak to them.
When the saints gather together, we meet with Christ in a way that is different, to the meeting we have with Him in our personal experience. Here amongst the saints we have “Opportunity” to minister to Him through the saints. It’s amongst the saints that my faith works!
James 2:17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.
It’s this time together that is so important to the Lord and not just a Sunday meeting, any gathering of the saints.
Mat 18:20 “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”
We know that Christ is always with us but when we come together we experience Him in a unique way and it’s our “Opportunity” to meet Him in his wonderful bride – the body (that’s us)
All my efforts to do good will be worthless if they are not by faith and done out of love for “His Body the Saints”. The day of judgement will consider the validity of our faith by what we did to each other, which is in fact done to Him for we are his body.
Mat 25:37-40 “Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? ‘And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? ‘When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ “The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’
Today and in the times ahead, when we gather together we have such a wonderful “opportunity” that simply shouldn’t be missed.
Heb 10:23-25 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
